Lewis Brown

Director

Born and raised in Hartsville, S.C., Lewis Brown served as Sonoco’s Sustainability Account Manager. A 1979 graduate of Francis Marion University, Brown began his career with Sonoco in 1990 after working for a decade in the banking industry. Brown formerly served as a member of Darlington County Council as well as Vice Chairman. He also served three years as a board member of the Darlington County Economic Development Partnership. Brown has also served on many other boards and councils in the community. He continues diligent research regarding factors influencing Darlington County’s economic impact and economic development since 1980.

Bob Kilgo

Deputy Director

Mr. Kilgo is a resident of Darlington and graduated from Emory University with a degree in Political Science. After teaching elementary school for several years, he entered the University of South Carolina School of Law and graduated in 1975. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in the same year. In 2020, he graduated from Francis Marion University with a degree in History. Mr. Kilgo practiced law in Darlington until he retired in 2018. He has served on many boards and councils over the years and will be a great asset to the Darlington County Economic Development team.

Stephanie Shaw

Director of Communications

Mrs. Shaw is a long-time resident of Hartsville, SC. She is a graduate of Clemson University with a degree in management. Shaw began her career at a local software company and then transitioned into the manufacturing sector with Sonoco Products Company. After a 10-year stint with Sonoco, she found her home at Darlington County. Shaw has served as the President of her local YMCA Board of Directors for several years and has deep ties in our community. She is an important asset to our Economic Development team.
